West Village Boutiques

Published 12/23/2013

The West Village has a particular knack for attracting beautiful boutiques. Indeed, some of the most noteworthy shops in the city reside within a few-block radius.

Here is a selection of some top local choices to help round out your winter wardrobe:

13 Christopher St

Albertine isn’t just a wonderful boutique, it’s an inspiration. Featuring small brands, exciting new designers and a passionate owner, Kyung Lee – who has had her own in-house clothing line since 2009 – this West Village fashion haven is a thing of light and beauty. Albertine stocks both vintage and consignment items, but the vintage jewelry selection alone is enough to keep you enthralled for hours.

A Man And A Woman
14 Christopher St

A Man and a Woman is a truly essential, relatively new boutique that offers only the best in funky designer labels. Boutique owner Erin Crandall was Shopbop’s head buyer for a decade — so you know she’s got an eye for head-to-toe style — and came up with A Man and a Woman’s store concept after a shopping trip with her fiancé.

Teich Design
22 Eighth Ave

If you’re having difficulty picking out a gift for someone, venture outside your NYC condominium to this boutique, owned by husband and wife team, Allison and JJ McGowan, and marvel at the sheer range of knick knacks, bags and wallets, accessories, jewelry and home furnishings. Not only is Teich a treasure trove, it’s an ecologically sound one too, with recycled-rubber floors and a passion for supporting local labels like Grass & Clovers, Studio DuArte and Noli Noli.

Jessie James
95 Greenwich Ave

Not to be confused with the American outlaw, Jessie James is, in fact, the ideal place to get the kinds of clothes that are so attractive that you can dress them up or down with complete ease. Known for a welcoming atmosphere, genuinely affable customer service and an eye for cool-casuals, Jessie James will keep you coming back for more, whatever the season.

415 Bleecker St

This trés chic boutique brings understated, but consistently stunning, Parisian cool to the West Village. Impeccable tailoring, slim fit pants, timeless blazers and sleek dresses, this is the kind of place that Audrey Hepburn would go to stock up on her Spring casuals. C’est magnifique!
